Happy New Year!

So I haven't been here in a while! I wanted to do a little year in review/resolutions for 2018 post.

It's New Year's Eve and I'm curled up on my sofa with a bottle of Old Mout Kiwi and Lime Cider with Harry Potter on the TV, and it's wonderful <3.

I know 2017 wasn't the greatest year for the planet as a whole, but honestly, as years go, I had a pretty damn good one.

  • I finished my traineeship and (after two weeks panicked unemployment) got a job I really enjoy - that I'll be in until July at least.
  • I hit my weight loss goal! I successfully lost 100lbs total (and about five stone of that since I started my traineeship in October 2015)
  • I joined the gym in January, and kept going! And completed C25K (okay, it took me something like eleven months instead of eight weeks, but I did it!)
  • I visited loads of places I'd never been to before - Lanzarote, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Prague!)
  • I learned to bake lots of new things!
  • I read 20 books - less than I wanted, but still better than nothing!
  • I spent lots of time with my wonderful friends and family.
And of course:
  • I started this blog :). I still feel like a newbie blogger but already I've gotten opportunities and gone to great events and met some awesome people because of this blog, and it's been a real highlight of my year.

So, what are my resolutions for 2018 going to be?

  • Continue to get fitter! Keep going to the gym, build up to running 10k, and start running *gasp* OUTSIDE! (I'm pretty attached to the treadmill).
  • Save up a deposit for a flat (this will take more than a year, but hopefully this time next year I'll be in a much better position!)
  • Lose the weight I put on in December - and a little more. I always thought that when I'd hit my goal, I'd stop for a bit, and then decide if I wanted to set a new goal or not. I hit my goal and honestly I'd like to lose a little more, so that's what I'm aiming for.
  • Learn to cook some new things! I'll bake nearly anything, but I actually cook very little, and I'd love to change that.
  • Visit some more places I've never been to before.
  • Start writing fiction again (I haven't written anything really since summer, sadly!)
  • Read more books than I did in 2017
And last, but not least!
  • Keep working on this blog! I don't want to say I'm going to put up so many posts a week or month, because I never end up sticking to them - but I do really want to post more regularly than I have been.

I hope you all have a wonderful 2018. Onwards and upwards!
