Blogtober Day 1 - October Goals

I've decided I'm doing Blogtober. And by 'decided' I mean 'I decided ages ago but never actually did any preperatory work for it because I'm an idiot'. Yet! That has not put me off! I have a list of topics that I would like to cover, and I want to get as far as I can into the month updating every day because I'm horrendously behind in updating this and I need to give myself a kick in the behind. So, sneaking in just before midnight, is this post on my October goals.

Blogtober, for the uninitiated, is where you post every day in October. We'll see how far we get into this...

So, my goals for this month:

Post Every Day

Let's start by aiming high, eh? I've been neglecting this blog a little too long - I really wanted to have more posts up by now. So I'm aiming to try and fix that again.

Lose at least 6lbs

I've been losing weight for a few years now, and I'm in the home stretch now. My goal weight - an ambitiously high target of 100lbs, or just over 7 stone, was set quite a while ago and I'm most of the way there, but I have another stone to go. I want to get there before Christmas, and lose 6lbs to half a stone this month. I'm also planning on posting some weight-loss stuff if anyone is interested in how I'm doing it.

Learn to Cook Some New Things

Associated with the weight loss is eating more healthily, which I'm actually alright at doing. However, I've fallen into a bit of a rut and end up eating the same things all the time, and there's only so many canned soups and wrap-pizzas a girl can take. I want to jazz my meals up a bit, and try to cook something new every week.

Spend More Time in the Gym

I'm perpetually trying to germinate a gym habit, but I haven't been in a week or two now due to a mix of injury, illness, and a lack of free time. I need to stop the excuses and get back to it, because I know I feel better when I'm exercising regularly. I'm aiming to go three times every week.

Read a Book (or two)

The only reading I tend to do now is on holiday, but I have a massive pile of books to catch up on and it ain't getting any smaller any time soon. A few years ago I was easily reading a book a week, now I'm lucky if I pick up one every few months. I need to find the time and catch up on some reading. 

So, they're my main goals for the month. I'll do another post at the end of the month with how I got on!
